Hi all,
Good Day.
I am a newbie to Drupal, I just want to know can we say "Drupal better than Joomla". I want to know this because, I have an application running using Joomla. But I am not satisfied with the performance of this platform. Can any one please specify the advantages of Drupal over Joomla. In the intial stage I chose Joomla, because lots of its compoenent where useful and was matching our requirement. Such as Multi-Language, SEF Urls etc. It would be great if you could share your thoughts.
Any helpful tutorials to start with Drupal would be highly appreciable.
Thanks again

Its hard to know however here is a check list
I did a lots of work on both joomla and drupal, Joomla and drupal both have a wide range of extensions/module to make your site better.... There are lots of things you can check to let you know which is better e.g.
1. The load time .. drupal is better
2. The ease to use.... joomla is better(but on initial stage)
3. Module/Extensions availability..... both have 100s of varieties but i feel quite hard to find a module in joomla
4. Community........you can find almost every answer in both communities
5. Module/Extension use....easy in joomla just install and set position, well also easy in drupal but not for layman
6. Page/Article creation... drupal page creation is easy in compare to joomla
7. Sef urls...drupal wins here
8. Module/Extension customization.... Hard in drupal but when you go deep in drupal standards you love to play with hooks, Joomla wins at initial stage i.e. if you want to create jst a simple module joomla beats drupal
9.Caching... drupal wins
10.Initial setup... joomla wins, actually drupal requires some play with with file permissions
11. Security... drupal wins
12. Database....both are easy to understand
13. Theming.....drupal wins .. theming is easy in drupal than joomla
